Mrs. Smith had been in poor health for the past year, and a few months ago was taken to California in hopes that a change of climate would be beneficial. She had been much better and her friends were very much encouraged, but she grew worse and passed away Saturday morning. She is survived by her husband J. L. Smith and nine children, three boys and six girls, the oldest being about nineteen and the youngest about eight months old. The body arrived on the 8:30 trial Wednesday accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Wilda Small and was taken to the home of the deceased.
