OBITUARY: George Covey was taken ill at the breakfast table Tuesday morning and died within a few minutes. He had not been very well for a week or more but was able to be out and around. He was born in Essex Co., New York October 20, 1856 and came to Wisconsin with his parents when a few years of age. He spent the major portion of his life in N. Dakota and Montana, comin on to Oregon four years ago and had lived with his sister, Mrs. Frank Cutsworth, since that time. He was never married. He was the oldest of ten children and Mrs. Cutsforth is the youngest. Some of the brothers and sisters are in Montana and Canada. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Thursday afternoon at two o'clock and burial was in the Pioneer cemetery. Gervais Star [newspaper clipping, not dated]
