OBITUARY: 
Funeral services for George Ware Coombs were held Friday afternoon at Rigdon's chapel in Salem, the services being conducted by Rev. Mark Comber. Interment was in the Pioneer cemetery near Brooks. Pallbearers were boys from Laurelwood academy, where George was a student. The singers were Prof. Walker and Miss Davis of Laurelwood, and Mrs. Malcomb Ramp and Mrs. Earl Streeter of Brooks. Mr. Becraft, bible school instructor at Laurelwood academy, conducted the services at the graveside.
George Ware Coombs was born in Wilmar, Arkansas, August 14, 1914, and died January 13, 1932. He came to Oregon when eight years of age and has resided in Falls City, Mapleton, and Brooks. His father died when he was six years old.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Maude Coombs Smith of Brooks; one uncle, Cecil V. Ashbaugh, and three cousins, Kraid, Vra, and Etta Fae Ashbaugh.
