1910 CENSUS - Elbert L. Davis, age 29, occupation farm laborer, b. Indiana, is enumerated with his wife of 9 years, Mary, age 32, b. Texas, along with son Virgil L., age 9 m's b. Oregon.
1930 CENSUS - Albert [sic] Davis, age 49, b. Illinois, farm laborer, is enumerated with wife Clara, age 21, b. Oregon, along with daughters Frances, age 9, Shirley, age 1, and Dorothy, age 5 months, all born in Oregon.
DISCREPANCY - Name of wife, Mary, given in 1910 Census and DC, but wife's name is Clara in obit and 1930 Census record. Wife's age in 1930 census would indicate that Clara is a second wife, but Mary Davis is given as wife in DC, which is also signed by Mary Davis as informant.
DISCREPANCY - Birthplace is given as Indiana in 1910 census, Illinois in 1930 Census and DC;.birth as 1875, but other records indicate that birthdate is closer to 1880.

OBITUARY:
Elbert L. Davis at a local hospial, Saturday, February 24 at the age of 53 years. Late resident of Gervais. Survived by widow Clare; three daughters, Frances, Shirley, and Dorothy, all at home, and two sons, Lloyd and Virgil.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Clough-Barrick company, Wednesday, February 28 at 1:30 p. m., with Rev. H. L. Grafious of Gervais officiating. Interment Pioneer cemetery at Brooks.
