Madison, age 30, lawyer, b. Indiana, Sarah, age 22, teacher, b. Oregon, Scott, age 19, farm worker, b. Oregon, and Harrison, age 19, farm worker, b. Oregon. Also enumerated with the family are 2 granddaughter, Mary Faine, age 15, and Alma Faine, age 14, both born in Oregon.

BIOGRAPHICAL (From - Annals of the S. W. R. Jones Family, pg 78):
"Emily Jones was the first member of the family to be born in Oregon and the last to leave home. She was not married until after the death of her mother, and for many years took the helm when the tired hands of that faithful pilot rested, perforce."
BIOGRAPHICAL 
"She went to school in District 31, and taught there and elsewhere. In her "Book of Remembrance," Sarah Hunt Steeves mentions some of her early teachers at Rocky Point, among them Emma (the name she prefers) and Sarah Jones. After she graduated at Willamette University in 1877, Emma studied Art at the John Hopkins Institute in San Francisco."
OBITUARY: 
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Jones Simmons were held on Monday afternoon of last week at the Ringo chapel in Woodburn with Rev. Ralph G. Kleen of the Methodist church officiating. Favorite hymns of the deceased were sung by Mrs. Herman E. Stone with Mrs. Paul Pemberton as accompanist. Pallbearers were Ronald E. Jones, C.T. Brixey, Pierce Collard, Paul Jones, Ralph Harper and Gordon Jones.
Emma Jones was born near Gervais January 22, 1856, and her entire life was spent in Marion county, the last 21 years in Woodburn. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. R. Jones who crossed the plains to Oregon in 1853, and was married November 20, 1896, to A.C. Simmons. She graduated from Willamette University in 1877 and studied art at John Hopkins Institute in San Francisco, was among the early teachers of Oregon and retained her interest in education to the last. She was a member of the Christian church for many years.
She is survived by her widower, a daughter, Mrs. Alpha Simmons Gernant of Clegg, Texas, brothers, M. L. Jones of Salem and Scott Jones of Gervais; sister Mrs. C. F. Clark of Portland and 10 grandchildren. Burial was at Pioneer cemetery beside other members of her family. A part of this historic cemetery was donated by her father and mother in 1856.
