NOTES: 
1900 CENSUS - Cecil Ashbaugh, laborer, age 20, b. May 1880 in Kansas, is enumerated with the Charles Palmer family.
1920 CENSUS - Cecil V. Ashbaugh, age 49, b. Kansas, occupation mail carrier, is enumerated with wife Mary M., age 42, b. Colorado, occupation newspaper correspondant, along with children Kraid I., age 15, Vra R., age 12, and Krete F., age 7, all born in Oregon.
OBITUARY: 
Died Suddenly Saturday morning, February 24, in the post office at Brooks while preparing to start on the mail delivery on the rural route which he carried. He was 59 years of age, is survived by the widow, Mary Ashbaugh, two sons, Kraid of Angwin, Calif., and Vra of Ventura, Calif., one daughter, Kreta Fae at home and one sister Mrs. Maude Smith of Albany.
Funeral services were held in Salem Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J. M. Comer and Rev. Hood officiating and burial was in Pioneer cemetery South of Gervais. A quartet composed of Mrs. Mary Hughes, Miss Vivian Benner, Dr. L. E. Barrick and Harry Pearson sang “Lead Kindly Light” and “Abide With Me”. Pallbearers were Joseph Benner, Ronald Jones, Harry Boach, Earl Streeter, Carl Aspinwall and Howard Ramp.
Mr. Ashbaugh was born in Osage City, Kansas and married June 22, 1910 to Miss Mary McLeod of Goldfield, Colorado.
