BIOGRAPHICAL (From Annals Of The S. W. R. Jones Family, pg 71) - "About this time he was married to Sarah Elizabeth Darland, daughter of Samuel Reynolds and Susanna Hutton Darland; the former at native of Indiana and the latter of Kentucky. They were married in Indiana, afterward moving to Iowa, and in 1865 Sarah Darland crossed the plains with her parents and settled in Waldo Hills. At the time of the marriage, S. W. and Sarah Jones the log house at The Nook, which had welcomed several Jones brides, was thought by the older brothers not good enough for Sammy's wife, so the young couple took up their abode at what was known as the Narcisse Place; but as it turned out, they later moved into the historic house which their second daughter, Jennie Collard, proudly claims as her birthplace.".
