1900 OR CENSUS - Bertha Ledwag [Lederer], age 15, b. Mar 1885 in Oregon, is enumerated with her mother Mary E. Loomis, age 35, b. Oct 1864 in Iowa, and stepfather Oscar Loomis, age 38, occupation farmer, b. Wisconsin, along with unnamed step-brother, age 4 months, b. Jan 1900 in Oregon. [Oscar, Mary, and 10 year old son Virgil, are enumerated in Cowlitz Co., Washingtopn in 1910 Census]
DISCREPANCY - DC and obits give her name as Dills, rather than Dill, and DC and obit gives her year of death as 1955, but marker says 1956

Death Claims Mrs. Dills, 70.
Services for Mrs. Bertha E. Dills, 70, who died Friday at her home at Route 5, Box 162, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Clough-Barrick chapel. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery, Gervais.
Mrs. Dills was a resident of the Salem area 7 years. Born March 9, 1885, in Tillamook County, she lived in Alaska several years and later in the Puget Sound area before returning to Oregon. She lived at Alsea and Scio before moving to Salem.
A member of the Baptist church, she leaves her husband Lewis L. Dills; sister, Mrs. Mary Mathews, Portland; and brothers, Grant Lederer and Vigil Loomis, Brooks.

Bertha Dills Dies at Home
Mrs. Bertha E. Dills, resident of the Salem area for the past seven years, died at her residence at Route 5, Box 162, Salem, Friday night.
Mrs. Dills, who was born in Tillamook County, March 9, 1885, lived in Alaska for a number of years and on returning from there lived in the Puget Sound area for seven years. She has also lived at Alsea and Scio, before moving to her present home. Mrs. Dills was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Lewis L. Dills to whom she was married at Fort Lewis in 1941; a sister, Mrs. Mary Matthews of Portland; and two brothers, Grant Lederer and Virgil Loomis, both of Brooks.
Funeral services will be held at the Clough-Barrick chapel Monday in the Pioneer cemetery at Gervais.
