OBITUARY: 
Douglas Malcolm Partridge , 51, a finance consultant for the State Department of Education, died Thursday at a Salem hospital, apparently of a blood infection.
Partridge had been with the state education department 19 years, and prior to that he worked for several years with the State Employment Department.
In the education department he specialized in apportioning and state’s basic school support and equalization funds.
Partridge, and his wife, Jeanette, moved into the historic Rickey School at 4855 Macleay Road SE in 1958. The remodeled school still serves as the Partridge home.
Partridge was born at Dallas and moved to Salem in 1946. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors besides the widow are daughters Mrs. Cassie Fay, Newberg, Mrs. Ivy Jane Hurley, Seattle; sons Douglas M. Jr., David, Allen, Bruce, Frank and Scott, all Salem; brothers James of Roseburg and Philip of Independence; sister Mrs. Dorothy Craven, Monmouth.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Morningside Methodist Church. Rev. Bruce McConnell officiating. Interment will be at Brooks Pioneer Cemetery. W.T. Rigdon mortuary is in charge. The family suggests contributions to the Morningside Methodist Chruch Fund.
