OBITUARY:
Corvallis -- Lester Edward Lander, 73, 160 Conifer St., died Wednesday in a Corvallis nursing home.
Lander was born in Brooks, morth of Salem. He spent most of his life in Corvallis, where he was a groom and jockey.
Surviving are sisters Ruth Mills, Salem, and Nonnie Real, Weisser, Idaho; brothers Charles and Marvin, Independence, and Everett, Corvallis.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Pioneer Cemetery northeast of Brooks. Rev. Donald Curtis will officate. Parmenter mortuary, Independence, is in charge.
