OBITUARY: 
Charles Hemenway, 63, of Salem, died Thursday from cancer. Born in Centralia, Wash., he began working with the Oregon Highway Division in 1958 and joined the Association of Engineering Employees in 1961. He worked in many locations throughout Oregon, including his work as project manager on a major reconstruction of Interstate 5 through Eugene. He returned to Salem to work as a supervising transportation engineer until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed hunting and reading and was a member of the Oak Park Community Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Ann (Brown), whom he married in 1954; daughter, Linda Leines of Beaverton; sons, Michael and Daniel, both of Salem, and Rodney of Aumsville; parents, Rev. C. Frank and Aggie Hemenway, of Salem; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Brooks Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. Contributions: Oak Park Community Church of God, 2990 Lancaster Drive NE, Salem, OR 97305.
