1930 WI CENSUS - Claude Gjonnes, age 14, b. Wisconsin, is enumerated with father Einar L., age 51, married at age 29, occupation farmer, b. Norway, and Inga, age 47, married at age 26, year of immigration 1901, b. Norway, year of immigration 1884, along with Floyd, age 20, b. Minnesota, Herold, age 17, b. Wisconsin, Erling C., age 10, b. Wisconsin, and Ester, age 7, b. Wisconsin.
OBITUARY: 
December 11, 1915 - March 26, 2005
Salem - Claude Gjonnes was born to Inga Kolstad Gjonnes and Einar Larson Gjonnes, Norwegian immigrants on Dec. 11, 1915. He was the third son of 4 children, the youngest is his sister Esther. He grew up in Clam Falls, Wisc. where he met and married Dorothy Mae Lindfield on June 24, 1943. To this union were born four children, on child preceded him in death. The family had a dairy farm in Clam Falls until 1956 when they relocated to Garibaldi, Ore., where Claude was employed in the plywood mill. From there the family moved to Salem in the fall of 1959. Claude farmed various crops in the Salem area while Dorothy taught school for Salem Public Schools.
Claude was a member of Assemblies of God Church and devout Christian man. He was also a member of the Sons of Norway, Gideon, and the NRA. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his three children, Irene of Silverton, Arne of Brooks and Merian of Salem; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Esther Robinson of Albany.
Claude was generous in his giving to many ministries to spread the Gospel.
Visitation will be today from 12 noon - 8 p.m. at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 31 at Brooks Assembly of God Church. Interment is at Brooks Pioneer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to either Assembly of God Missions or the Willamette Valley Hospice
