1900 OR CENSUS - Henry L. Woolery, age 73, b. Feb 1827 in Canada, farmer, year of immigration 1845, is enumerated with his wife of 33 years, Margaret, age 58, b. Jan 1842 in Illinois, mother of 5 children, all of whom are living at the time of the census, along with Walter, age 33, single, farmer, b. Iowa, and Henry, age 29, single, b. California.

OBITUARY: 
Henry Ludwick Woolery died Tuesday September 7th, 1915, at 8 o’clock, at his home one mile south of Gervais, after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 10th, 1827, in Canada in the County of Dundask [Dundas] across the river from Ogonsburg [Ogdensburg], and was 88 years, 6 months and 25 days at the time of his death.
He left Canada with his parents when five years old for upper Canada township of Rumney and lived there until 1844, and from there he moved to the U.S. and settled at Rockford, Illinois.
He was a veteran of the civil war, belonging to Co. C. 74th regiment of Illinois Infantry Volunteers. He joined the army August 7th 1862. He was married Sept. 30, 1851 to Elizabeth Davis; to this union 4 children were born, two of whom are still living. In 1866 he was married to Margaret Lightfoot, who died June 17, 1912.
In 1870 he moved with his wife and family to California, living there 20 years. In August 1890 he came to Oregon and in the fall of 1896 he bought the Brewery Hill place, living there until his death.
He is survived by seven children: Mrs. Ellen Stevens of Indiana, Alva Woolery of Illinois, Mrs. Josephine Parker, Walter and Henry Woolery, Mrs. Rosa Ritchey and Mrs. Nettie McDougall, all of Gervais; there brothers and two sisters, twenty-six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral services were held Thursday at 10 o’clock at the Pioneer church with burial in the Pioneer cemetery.
