PIONEER DIES FROM INJURIES.
Harrison Jones One of Best Known of The Early Residents Passes.
Injuries recieved last Tuesday when for more than an hour he was pinned under a tree which he had felled, resulted last night in the death of Harrison Jones of Brooks, one of the best known pioneers of Marion county. Mr. Jones was 59 years of age.
Mr. Jones is a native of Marion county having been born near his present home. His father S. W. R. JOnes, came to Oregon and settled near Gervais in 1854. Harrison Jones was one of 14 children, seven boys and seven girls.
Surviving Mr. Jones are his widow, Mrs. Agnes Jones, and the following children, W. Howard Ramp, George Ramp, Malcolm S. Ramp, Loy A. Jones, Inez J. May, Earl T. Jones, Wasco, Or.; S. W. Jones and Scott Jones; and Mrs. Emma Simmons, Woodburn, and Mrs. Sarah Clark, Portland.
Deceased was a member of Fidelity lodge No. 5 A. F. & A. M., Gervais, and Al Kader temple of Shriners, Portland.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Pioneer church and interment in the Pioneer cemetery near Brooks.

Harrison Jones, member of a prominent pioneer family of Brooks, Oregon, died at his home near Brooks Monday night at the age of 59 years. His father, S.W.R. Jones, settled near Gervais in 1954. Harrison Jones was married to Sarah Harris in 1886. To this union four chidren were born, two of whom survive, Loy A. Jones and Mrs. Inez J. May. In 1893 following the death of his first wife, Mr. Jones married Agnes Ramp. Four sons were born, three of whom are now living, Earl T. Jones of Wasco, Oregon, and Everett N. and Ralph R. Jones, of Gervais. Mevlin, the fourth son, died in 1918. He is also survived by three stepchildren, W. Howard Ramp, George A. Ramp and Malcom S. Ramp; by three brothers, M.L., S.W., and Scott, and by three sisters, Mrs. Susan Hunsaker and Mrs. Emma Simmons, of Woodburn, and Mrs. Sarah Clark, of Portland. The deceased was a member of A.F. & A.M. Fidelity lodge No. 54, of this place, and of Al Kader shrine, of Portland. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the pioneer church and interment was made in the pioneer cemetery.
