1920 OR CENSUS - Edwin E. Shields, age 64, b. Ohio, farmer, is enumerated with his wife, Clara, age 54, b. Oregon, along with children Cleve W., single, age 28, b. Washington, Grace S., single, age 24, b. Washington, and Luke S., single, age 15, b. Oregon.
OBITUARY: 
At a local hospital, Nov 26 [25], Edward [Edwin] E. Shields, age 67 years, husband of Clara I. Shields, father of Cleve W. Shields, Grace S. Shields and Luke E. Shields; also survived by one brother, John W. Shields of Cheney, Wa. Was a member of the I. O. O. F. and A. O U. W. fraternities, also a member of the Salem grange, of which he was master at the time of his death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 1 o'clcok from the home near Gervais. Interment Pioneer cemtery. Rigdon & Son directors.

E. E. SHIELDS PASSES ON.
E. E. Shields passed away at a hospital in Salem Saturday, Nov. 25, 1922, at 11 o'clock p. m. Funeral services were held at the home in the Parkersville district Tuesday at one o'clock p. m. Rev. R. W. Achor preaching the funeral services. Interment was made in the Pioneer cemetery, the I. O. O. F. Lodge taking charge of the services at the grave.
Edwin E. Shields was born in Marrowtown [sic], Ohio, in 1856. He recieved his education in the Bloomington Normal in Bloomington, Ill. He came to Oregon with his brothers J. W. and Geo. Shields in Feb. 1880. In 1888 he was married to Clara I. Smith and from this union four children were born.
He is survived by his wife and three children: Cleve, Grace, and Luke, and one brother, J. W. Shields of Cheney, Wash. All were present at the funeral. Mr. Shields was a member of the I. O. O. F. and A. O. U. W. Lodges and Master of the Salem Grange, and a member of the Baptist church of Spokane.
He was a prosperous farmer and always took great interest in educational and community upbuilding affairs.
