DICREPANCY: Middle initial given as E. on DC and obit, C. on census record, and middle name is given as Katherine on George E.'s DC. OBITUARY:  Funeral service for Mrs. Lois E. Shaw, 76, was held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church in Brooks. Rev. George Cole officiating, and burial took place in Pioneer cemetery. Mrs. Shaw had been ill for several years, but was taken critically ill on Tuesday morning, the 14, dying late that day. She was born in Potsdam, N. Y., coming to Brooks 27 years ago, where she has resided since that time. Her husband preceded her in death eight years ago. Three children survive their mother. They are: Guy Shaw of Brooks, Mrs. Ora Lawrence of Cottage Grove, and Mrs. Pearl Johnson of Desmet, S. D. Five grandchildren also survive.
