BIOGRAPHICAL (From Annals of The S. W. R. Jones Family): "He was married to Clarinda (Clara) Jane Hicks of Gervais. Her parents were William P. and Catherine McMillan Hicks, who were both born in Western New York State. They moved from Geneva, N. Y., to Michigan in 1853, crossing Lake Erie by steamer. They located in Tecumseh, where Clara was born. The family moved to Oregon in 1880, and bought the Larkins donation claim, near Gervais, so the wedding took place in the same house from which Silas Jones and Rebecca Larkins were married."
