Darland, age 7 months, b. Oct 1899 in Washington.  2nd MARRIAGE - to Mable M. [maiden name not known by compiler] BIOGRAPHICAL - brother of Sarah Elizabeth Darland Jones. OBITUARY:  Charles B. Darland, 91, of 1230 Oxford St. SE, died Sunday in a Salem hospital. He was the son of Samuel and Susan Darland, who came to Oregon by wagon train in the 1850's and settled in the Waldo Hills area near Aumsville. He was born in that area. He lived in Goldendale, Wash., for a number of years and was an onion farmer in the Brooks area for about 20 years. He had operated a hotel at Otter Rock on the Coast for about five years in the 1930's. He retired from his Brooks farm about six years ago. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mable M. Darland, Salem; daughter, Mrs. Mable Conroy, Portland; son, Augustus Darland, Albany, Calif.; several grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in W.T.
