OBITUARY: Sidney Roy Johnson, 83, of Salem, died Sunday.
He was born in Erdahl, Minn., and lived in Parshall, N.D., where he attended school. He attended business school and agriculture college in Fargo, N.D., and Minot, N.D., before moving to Brooks in 1960. He worked for Fairview Training Center and raised berries in the Brooks area. He attended the Salem Free Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, A. Bernice; daughters Leah Garcia and Laurel Carnine, both of Salem; Linda Leach, Albany; son, Peder, Salem; sisters Lil Gramstad, Tucson, Ariz., Nettie Washburn, Grand Forks, Bernice Unger, Anderson, Ind., Pearl Schindler, Cheshire, Conn., Myrtle Snyder, Melita, Manitoba, Canada; brother, Harry, Tucson.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pioneer Cemetery in Brooks. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Virgil T. Golden mortuary, Salem.
