OBITUARY:  April 8, 1903--May 24, 1988 Opal M. Rasmussen, 85, of Salem died Tuesday in Salem. She was born in Lind, Wash. She moved to Silverton in 1925. In 1931 she moved to Salem and had lived in the Hazelgreen area ever since. She was a dressmaker, an avid reader and a gardener. She attended Salem High School and the Salem Business College. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn J. Spelbrink and Carol A. Parsons, both of Salem. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday in Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary, Salem. Interment will be in Brooks Pioneer Cemetery, Brooks. Contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation in care of the mortuary.
