OBITUARY: Jan. 31, 1906 -- March 28, 1991
BROOKS -- The Rev. Alek John Holm, 85, died Thursday at his home. He was born in West Salem, Wis., and was raised in North Dakota.
A minister and carpenter, he built and pastored several churches in Oregon, Idaho and California, retiring in 1973. He lived in Crescent City, Calif. for 10 years before coming to Brooks 10 years ago.
He married Myrtle Marie on April 25, 1925, in Los Angeles. He was a member of Brooks Assembly of God Church, and he enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Rose Kindsfater of Hillsboro; brother, William of Yucaipa, Calif.; sisters, Emma Swancoat of Torrance, Calif., Myrtle Roberts of Buelton, Calif., and Charlotte Woodruff of Maysville, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with interment in Pioneer Cemetery, Brooks. Arrangements are by Cornwell mortuary, Woodburn.
