OBITUARY:  GOLD BEACH -- Charles Jones, 69, died Saturday at his home. Cause of death was unavailable. He was born in Salem and grew up in Hillsboro; He graduated from Oregon College of Education and was a teacher. He moved to Gold Beach in 1959. He married Lois in 1949; she died in 1974. Later he married Eljean; she died in 1993. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, whom he married in 1994; mother, Ethel Jones of Hillsboro; sister, Lois Reed of Battle Ground, Wash.; brother, Warren of Milwaukie and Dick of Gaston; daughter, Lori Haley of Kent, Wash.; sons, Michael of Madras, Daniel of Seattle and Bruce of Lebanon; stepdaughter, Brenda Donin of Beaverton; stepson, Thomas Rinehart of Sweet Home; three grandchildren; and 11 step-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Simon Funeral Home in Woodburn. Interment will be in Brooks Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are by Scantlin’s Brookings Mortuary Chapel.
