OBITUARY: Bessie Irene Hershey of Southeast Portland, a retired Portland legal secretary, died of pneumonia Jan. 4 in a Portland care center. A funeral has been held. Mrs. Hershey was 73.
She was born June 20, 1920, in Eddyville and lived most of her life in the Portland area. She was a graduate of Oregon State College, now OSU. Mrs. Hershey worked as a laboratory technician for a local hospital and had been employed as a real estate agent. She also had worked as a legal secretary for a local law firm.
Survivors include her sisters, Dora Pope of Portland and Jennie Vicars of Birkenfeld, in Columbia County.
Burial was in Pioneer Cemetery in Brooks.
