Velma Beatrice Hatfield

SUBLIMITY – Velma Beatrice Hatfield, 93, died Saturday.
She was born in Micah, Wash., and married Roy Hatfield on May 3, 1918, in Spokane, Wash. He died in 1964. She moved to Oregon in 1923 and to Turner in 1927. In 1987 she moved to Sublimity.
She was a member of the Turner Christian Church and the Turner Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include her sons, Robert of Stayton, Henry of Turner, Edward and Orville, both of Salem, and James of Milton, Fla.; daughters Aileen Sims of Portland, and Natalie Nelson of Astoria; brother, Arnold Brother of Billings, Mont.; Sisters, Gladine Gilcrest of Spokane, and Ilene Bishop of Silverton; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Services will begin at 2 p.m Tuesday in Weddle Mortuary, Stayton. Private interment will be in Cloverdale Cemetery, Turner. Visiting will be from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday in the mortuary.
Contributions may be made to the Cloverdale Cemetery Association.
