TURNER - Ed was born in Sherwood, Oregon to Raymond Edward Taylor and Mava Helen (Campbell) Taylor. When Ed was five years old the family moved to Gleneden Beach. As Ed grew up on the coast he learned from his father to build and repair homes. In 1963 Ed graduated from Taft High and in the fall moved to Salem to attend Merritt Davis School of Business. He received both Business Management and Accounting Degrees. While attending college, he met the love of his life and future wife, Carol Elizabeth Roush. On June 18, 1965, they were married in Molalla where Carol had grown up.
Ed's job career moved from being manager of Salem Masonry & Supply, to home builder for K & B Jorde Construction and retirement as a self-employed general contractor. In 1991, Ed & Carol designed and built their own home south of Turner.
Ed is survived by his wife Carol, sons James (Buffy), Jerry (Veronica), grandchildren Kyleah (Kyle) Hosking, Jeff, Donovan, Adriana, sister Marge (Louis) Knapke, and many other friends and family.
Ed and Carol were very active in the Capitol Area Mustang Club, enjoyed camping, fishing and reading.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Cloverdale Cemetery, Turner. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice or a charity of your choice . Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
