OBITUARY: 
MARION—The funeral of James Monroe Slyter who passed away at his home Friday, June 17, was held Sunday at 1:30 p.m., from the Friends church at Marion, with Rev. William Watson conducting the services. Funeral was in charge of E. E. Howell, undertaker, Jefferson, and burial was in the Marion cemetery.; James Monroe Slyter was born in Cessiville, Ind., August 2, 1861. He was married in Sterling, Kan., January 1, 1891, to Jennie Alice Brown. Surviving are his wife, and six children, Mrs. Ina J. King, Siletz; James Lee Slyter, Portland; Mrs. Millie Adressa Hund, Eugene; George T. Slyter, Klamath Falls; S. Irvin Slyter, Broadbent, Ore.; and Samuel J. Slyter, Portland. One sister, Mrs. Etta Holaway, Wabash, Ind.; 16 grandchildren and great grand child.
