OBITUARY: 
Dallas – Lynn R. Neal, 94, died Thursday. He was born in West Stayton and graduated from Silver Falls Grammar School and Stayton High School. He later attended Multnomah Business College in Portland.
On Sept. 30, 1922, he married Eva McClellan in Salem. They lived in Silverton, and he had a 33-year career in the lumber industry. He first worked for Silver Falls Timber Co. and later for Evans Lumber.
In 1956 he moved to West Salem, where he lived for 34 years. He built a house and worked at Blue Lake Packers cannery, doing seasonal maintenance. In 1971 he retired. He moved to Dallas four years ago.
He was active in the First Christian Church in Silverton, holding every position open to a layman. He enjoyed tying flies and making cabinets in his spare time.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Pauline Barnes of Dallas; son, Robert of Woodland, Calif.; brothers, Wallace of Lowell, and James of Salem; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, in the church. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Bollman mortuary. Contributions may be made to the church in care of the mortuary.
