MARRIAGE: Luthy – Kissling – Edward P. Luthy and Miss Marie E. Kissling were married on Wednesday of last week at the bride’s home on Waldo Hills a few miles from this city.
Miss Kissling is one of Marion County’s fairest daughters, and Mr. Luthy is no less well favorably known, both having spent many years in that section, and belonging to prosperous pioneer families. The wedding was at high noon, Wednesday, July 7, the officiating clergyman being Rev. P.S. Knight of Salem, who is a pastor of the Willard church near their home. The double ring ceremony was used, the little daughter of Mrs. Currie being the ring bearer. The bride, who was charmingly gowned in white, was attended by Miss Ethel Thompson and Ernest Luthy, twin brother of the groom, was “Best Man.” The room was tastefully decorated with flowers and ferns and about thirty guests were assembled therein to witness the happy ceremony. After a wedding feast was served the young couple departed for Newport, where they will spend a few days before commencing housekeeping at Mr. Luthy’s farm on Waldo Hills.
