OBITUARY: 
Charles A. Parton Rites Set Friday – Silverton – Charles Arthur Parton, 60, resident of Silverton for the last two years, died today. He was born in Wallace, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Ekman chapel, Rev. Frank Zook officiating, with interment in the Bethany cemetery.
Surviving relatives include the widow, Mrs. Cora Parton; children, Mrs. Tom Agan, Mrs. Etta Fanning, and Mrs. Umbenhower of Silverton; Orval Parton of Gervais, Louis of Madison, Nebraska, Wilbur of Silverton; brothers, Jim of Albany, Dave of Lebanon, John of Newberg, Ed of Salem, and Frank of Nebraska; sisters, Mrs. Lillian Gilham of Salem.
