1880 OR CENSUS - Mary Hunt, age 39, b. Iowa, is enumerated with husband John A. Hunt, age 45, farmer, b. Indiana, along Howard B., age 20, occupation laborer, b. Oregon, and his [Howard's] wife Delia, [identified as d-in-law of John] age 20, b. Nebraska, along with Carrie, age 15, Gracie, age 10, and Matilda, age 9, all born in Oregon. Also enumerated with the family are two nephews [of John's], Alfred, age 15, b. Oregon and Albert, age 6, b. Oregon, and 4 boarders.
OBITUARY: 
Silverton Pioneer Passes Suddenly – Mrs. Mary Ellen Hunt Crossed Plains in 1852, Funeral Tuesday – Silverton, Ore., August 16 – (Special) – Mrs. Mary Ellen Hunt, Silverton pioneer, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. G. Albaugh of McCleay, Oregon, Sunday at noon. Mrs. Hunt suffered a stroke of paralysis a week ago. She was 85 years of age at the time of her death.
Mrs. Hunt crossed the plains in 1852, coming on to Silverton and making her home in the Waldo Hills since that time. In 1858 she was married to John A. Hunt, who died in 1913. She is survived by two children, Mrs. Albaugh, and Mrs. Matilda A. Lillelund of the Waldo Hills, one granddaughter, Mrs. Alice Thompson, and one brother, the Rev. Ralph Amon of Los Angeles.
Funerdal services will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock from the Jack and Ekman parlors with interment in the Mount Hope, the old Warren Cemetery, in the Waldo Hills. (Source: Howard Mader’s Patton Scrapbook, source and date not given).
