DISCREPANCY - the name is spelled Starmer in census records and marker, Stormer in obit and DC.

OBITUARY: 
Pioneer of 1852 Is Laid To Rest – W. J. Stormer Passes Away In Waldo Hills at Age of 81 Years – Funeral services were held at Silverton yesterday for W. J. Stormer, Oregon pioneer of 1852, and a long resident of the Waldo Hills district about 12 miles east of Salem. Mr. Stormer was 81 years old and died Thursday. Interment was in the Warren Cemetery in the Waldo Hills.
Mr. Stormer was born in Iowa in 1842 and came to Oregon in 1852. He first settled in Clackamas County, but came to Marion County when a young man. In 1873 he was married to Mary Geer, a daughter of R. C. Geer. She is an aunt of the late Home Davenport, world-known cartoonist.
Mr. Stormer is survived by his widow; two sisters, Mrs. L. C. Pooler, and Mrs. S. F. Anderson of Salem, and by three half brothers. He was a great uncle of Mark McCallister of Salem. Oregon Statesman 17 Jun 1923 1:5.
