OBITUARY:
Fred Niles Thomas, 88, of Salem died Friday. He was born in Butte, ND, and moved to Salem in 1941. He was a farmer in the Mission Bottom area near Wheatland. He was a member of the Eagles and enjoyed bowling.
He is survived by his daughters, Peggy J. Eyerly and Darlene Tooley, both of Salem; Mary Eggiman of Boise, Idaho; and Lana Crosby of Tualatin; son, Gary of Eugene, sister, Nellie Butterfield of Sacramento, Calif.; brother Lawrence of Madison, Wis; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by Barrick Mortuary.
