OBITUARY: 
Stayton – Donald R. Huber, 66, died Sunday. He was born in Lyons, where he lived until coming to Stayton in 1980. He married Lucille E. Mulkey on July 1947, in Silverton. She died on April 28.
He graduated from Mill City High School and served as a Marine during World War II. He worked for Freres Lumber Company for 51 years. When he was 35 years old he was appointed the head millwright, a position he held for 25 years. He then worked as a part-time consultant to the company until his death.
He was a member of the board of directors for the Santiam Memorial Hospital and a member of the Lyons Fire Department, Lyons City Council and the Mari-Linn Grade School Board.
Survivors include his sons, Dennis and Darrell, both of Stayton; daughters, Donna Oliver and Debra Smith, both of Salem; sister Maxyne Keeley of Portland; and nine grandchildren.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Weddle Mortuary. Interment will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Salem.
Contributions may be made to the Canyon Crisis Center in Mill City or the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in Woodland, Calif. Statesman Journal, July 2, 1991.
