In a June 17, 1915, ceremony held in Pine City, Minn., she married Frank Dederick. The couple moved to Washington, then in 1944 to Silverton. He preceded her in death in 1981.

She was elected chairman of the Resident Council and was voted Resident of the Month by her peers.
