OBITUARY:
Independence – Mrs. Iva May Balch, 81, of 142 Oak St., Independence, died Sunday in a Dallas nursing home.
A native of Sodaville, Ore., she lived in the Silverton area for many years and resided here for the past 15 years. She had taught school at Powell Butte, Ore., for several years. She was a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are sons Emmett Balch, Napa, Calif., and Burl Balch, Klamath Falls; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Arrangements are pending at the Parmenter Funeral Home.

Independence – Services for Mrs. Iva May Balch of Independence, who died Sunday at the age of 81, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Parmenter Funeral Home, Lynnton Elwell officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mt. Hope Cemetery east of Salem.
