1850 OR CENSUS - Harden M. McCallister, age 23, b. Illinois, is enumerated with Julia, age 27, b. Virginia, and William, age 28, b. Illinois.
1880 OR CENSUS - Julia McCallister, age 58, b. Virginia, is enumerated with husband Harden, age 54, farmer, b. Missouri, along with children Annette, age 20, b. Oregon, and Eugene, age 19, farm laborer, b. Oregon. Also enumerated is Mahala, identified as mother [of Harden], age 79, widowed, b. Kentucky.
OBITUARY: 
At the home of her son, W.B. McAllister, at Enger, Thursday evening, June 15th, 1899, of old age, Mrs. Julia McAllister, aged 77 years.
Deceased was the wife of H. McAllister. They came across the plains in 1849 and were married in 1850. She is survived by her husband and four children, W.R.B. McAllister, at Enger, F.T. McAllister of Prineville, Mrs. D.A. Hendrick, of Libby, Mont., and Mrs. Geo. Swegle, of Dayton, Oregon. Mrs. Swegle is expected at the funeral, which will be conducted at the home either this evening or Saturday morning, Rev. S.J. Evans officiating.
Deceased was one of the best known pioneers in the county and leaves a wide circle of friends. She was a constant member of the Christian denomination, in which she was an ardent and consisted worker. She will be remembered by many who have been recipients of favors and kindness from her during years of activity as a neighbor, friend and Christian worker.
