OBITUARY:
Alice Peebles Pruden, longtime Portland school teacher, died Wednesday at age 86.
Mrs. Pruden, who lived at 3104 NE Schuyler St., was born July 7, 1886, in Salem. She moved to Portland in 1907. She taught for many years at Arleta and Fernwood schools.
She was a member of Chapter M, P.E.O. Sisterhood, and of the Postal Auxiliary. She served on the election board from 1927 to 1960. Mrs. Pruden is survived by a niece in Arizona.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Hennessey, Goetsch & McGee chapel, with private interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Silverton.
