1930 NE CENSUS - Leah M. Smith, age 20, b. Kansas, is enumerated with her father Melvin H., age 50, occupation laborer, b. Nebraska, and [mother] Jennie F., age 51, b. Kansas, along with Milford H., age 23, single, b. Kansas, William, age 19, b. Kansas, Donald P., age 16, b. Nebraska, Jessie M., age 13, b. Nebraska, and Neva P., age 11, b. Nebraska;
DISCREPANCY - Obit gives place of birth as Nebraska, but census records give place of birth as Kansas;
OBITUARY: 
Woodburn – Leah M. Parton, 87, died Friday at home. Born in Wallace, Neb., she moved to Oregon in 1937. In 1940 she moved to Woodburn to farm with her husband. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and playing cards. She was a Trail Blazers fan. Her husband, Orval, died in 1989.
Survivors include her daughters, Wilma Senter and Mildred Toepfer, both of Woodburn, and Dona Heyden of Corvallis; sisters, Neva Harwell of Eugene and Jessie Jividen of Stapleton, Neb.; brother Don Smith of Corning, Calif.; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Cornwell mortuary, Woodburn. Private interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Salem.
