OBITUARY: 
Susan A. Jones, resident of the Waldo Hills for more than forty years, passed away at the home of her son, Roy A. Jones, Tuesday morning, January 31, 1928, after a lingering illness of several months, being 76 years, 6 months, and 18 days of age.
Funeral services were held from the Jack and Ekman parlors of Silverton Thursday, February 2, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. J.A. Bennett officiating.
Two solos, “Sweet Bye and Bye,” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,” were beautifully rendered by Mrs. Sid Richardson of Silverton.
Grandma Jones as she was known to all, was laid to rest in the Mt. Hope Cemetery Thursday, February 2, 1928, by the side of her husband, W. R. Jones.
Those who survive her are her two sons, Roy A. Jones and Clarence Jones, of Victor Point, and their families. There are six grandchildren, one brother, A. J. Cooley of Portland, and one sister, Mrs. W. C. Hubbard of Salem, besides a host of friends to mourn her loss.
A loved one from us is gone.
A voice we loved is still.
A vacant place is in our house,
Which never can be filled
