She was born in Littlefield, Texas, and came to Salem from California in 1967. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and genealogy. Survivors include her mother, Josie B. Simmons of Amarillo, Texas; sons Kelly of Salem, Scott of San Diego and Eric of Stayton; sisters, Tommye Phelan and Jan Shannon, both of Amarillo, and Marie Lemrick of George; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will begin at 4 p.m. today in Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Mortuary. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Aumsville.
